Mick Cruz is a singer-songwriter and producer whose musical style is a cross between traditional Country Music and a touch of rock and roll. Mick was born and raised in a small town deep in south Texas. Mick’s musical journey began at age 12 in Laredo, Texas, when his mother a singer of Christian Music inspired him to learn how to sing. “I just watched my mother, and it made me think and want to learn how to sing one day”. As I got older, I began to teach myself how to play guitar on my brother's guitar. “My brother Bo was always playing the guitar in our room singing songs like George Straits “The Chair” and “Cowboy Rides Away”!! So, whenever I could I began singing and playing all the songs he learned. Little by little my singing and playing improved, eventually getting better than my brother. Those were some really fun times back then. A year or so later, a friend and I started a small band singing rock-n-roll with some friends from school. We played wherever we could and to anybody who would listen to us.”
Mick attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and received a Bachelor in Criminal Justice. With hard work and a growing circle of contacts. Mick is like the guy next door, funny, outgoing, charismatic, and talented. With his charisma, energy and songs Mick has been able to connect with fans throughout the state. He began singing at weddings and parties and always seemed to bring joy to the people around him with songs from George Strait, AC/DC, Steve Miller Band, Bon Jovi, Lynard Skynard and Eagles. At the age of 26 Mick had his first big performance opening up the show for Lee Roy Parnel at the annual WBCA Jalapeno festival. There on after Mick has an impressive list of opening acts ranging from Jason Aldean, Tracy Lawrence, John Michael Montgomery, Tracy Bryd, Clay Walker, Mark Chesnutt, Randy Rogers, Pat Green and Kevin Fowler to name a few. “I have been so fortunate to be able to open up for such an impressive list of Country artists.” “I watched and learned as much as I could from them, and that kind of experience is very difficult to come by and has helped me become what I am today.”
Mick has grown as an artist and is not afraid to try and look for new sounds which shows in his music. His latest single “Everything's Better With You” is a song that connects you and that special someone realizing that everything you do together is simply better. Mick’s music is a result of dedication and to challenge himself as a singer and songwriter. Mick continues to be heavenly involved with the production aspect of all is music and has enjoyed every moment.
